A Magnificent Finale for 2023

Girl with Liverleaf on a Mound, with Dish of Meissen Porcelain by Wendt & Kühn represent the fine craftsmanship of Wendt and Kühn and the sophistication of the Meissen porcelain manufactory characterizing the exclusive collection which has been created as a collaboration between the two manufactories over the past two years.  Created for those with the highest expectations of worth and exclusivity, this series is coming to its magnificent conclusion with one further set in 2023.

Once again, a motif from the “Meissen Blumentafel”, a historic chart showing 36 illustrations of flowers, was used as the pattern for creating the figurine and for the image on the dish. This year a liverleaf adorns the elegant porcelain dish with its gold rim. And once again we faced the challenge of accurately translating the virtuosity of form and color in the Meissen drawing into a physical figurine that the Grünhainichen workshops could reproduce. Different shades of blue translucent paint applied to the wafer-thin petals of the liverleaf create a background to which the painters add delicate lines and the dots for the stamens with a steady hand. Equally as much care is put into painting the green leaves, using translucent paint and the finest brush strokes to create the delicate veins.  Sitting in the shade of the leaf canopy is a small girl. Wearing a sunny-yellow pinafore dress and a pretty wreath of flowers she is completely engrossed in the book. A sight that makes us happy and brings a smile to our lips. And an enchanting finale to our trio of figurines accompanied by three fine Meissen porcelain dishes.

The exclusivity of this set is underlined by having the year of production – 2023 – painted on the underside of the porcelain dish, immediately under the world famous crossed blue swords.

The product is beautifully gift boxed. The figurine is approx. 3.5″ H and the porcelain dish is approx. 4.75″ x 3.5″
